PCMS PTSA Mission and Goals 

2021 - 2022

 

PCMS PTSA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children, through collective collaboration, commitment, diversity, respect, and accountability.

Goals:

  1. Encourage and create opportunities for family involvement in student academic learning and achievement.
  • Objective 1: Provide clear, concise, and timely information to our school community, increasing parent participation, volunteerism,  through PTSA meetings, programs, events - via personal invitation, website, e-news, social media, message boards, and ISD flyers. 
  • Objective 2: Provide Parent Education and PCMS speakers to communicate district-wide “Parent Ed” opportunities.
  • Objective 3:  Acknowledge parent volunteers throughout the year.

 

  1. Create a partnership with administrators, teachers, and staff to encourage an environment conducive to learning.
  • Objective 1: Establish and maintain open communication with school administration and staff (e.g., monthly Principal/PTSA meetings, PTSA-ASB Liaison to collaborate with ASB Advisor to coordinate PTSA/ASB activities).
  • Objective 2: Provide thoughtful consideration of and timely response to all program, activity, and funding requests.
  • Objective 3: Provide volunteer and funding resources to support PCMS teachers, staff, and activities.
  • Objective 4: Recognize staff through Staff Appreciation activities.

 

  1. Encourage opportunities for students to have a voice and advocate on their behalf when they don’t.
  • Objective 1: Strive for 100% PTSA membership (one adult representative for each student).
  • Objective 2: Utilize Director of Advocacy to advocate for the health, safety, and well-being of our children.
  • Objective 3: Keep parents informed and mobilized on legislation and other state and district-wide issues that affect our schools and communities.

 

  1. Foster unity within our community through socials, meetings, and other events.
  • Objective 1: Find volunteers from all feeder schools to encourage participation and unity within our school.
  • Objective 2: Encourage participation in and support of humanitarian/community outreach and special needs efforts.
  • Objective 3: Promote and support the Issaquah Schools Foundation (financially and via PTSA-ISF Ambassador Board position).
